Yahoo Privacy... Or Lack Thereof...



Because we've heretofore significantly enjoyed (and encouraged) the easy functionality of Yahoo mail or Yahoo egroups, we feel compelled to pass along this significant policy-change by Yahoo!.

While less scrupulous websites, viruses & adware have exploited web-tracking capabilities for years, this seems to signal the first time a major company has acknowleged using these web-tracking tactics, however well-intentioned.

"Opt-Out" is one option available to you. Filing a complaint may be another. And perhaps joining a sell-off of Yahoo stock might also send a message of non-acceptability.

In any event, please be advised: If the policy stands, we no longer encourage the use of Yahoo mail or Yahoo egroups.
