Northview's (WIRELESS) Cafe...
This morning was my first visit to the Capstone Cafe & Bookstore, on the campus of Northview Christian Life Center in Carmel.Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure, coffee & books. Really nice facilities. But importantly, the doors open to the OUTSIDE of the complex... not just inside. Looks like Northview is really headed somewhere with this as an outreach to their community. Hmmmm.
But another great part (IMHO) is what it represents to those of us who are pushing the paradigm by training e-capable Christians interested in community outreach... They're WIRELESS!!!
So imagine if you will, outreaching churches who are now perfectly positioned to train a great number of e-capable Christians to network for greater 'salt & light' impact in our new culture. In fact, that was part of my visit this morning -- to meet with a couple of Christian leader-types (who attend Northview), to empower them via some simple web-training using a laptop.
My mind runs wild... Perhaps Capstone could become a great partner with us, training & networking e-capable volunteers in the inner city, as we seek to help build relational networks throughout the metro area. Our objective, considering God's perfect sense of love & justice... is to bridge the 'digital divide', the multicultural divide... and all the while, seeking to help folks cross God's eternal divide. Could it be? [Stay tuned]
['U.B. Bloggin' is an inner-city outreach doing computer-training in the name of Christ. Our first location is the Unleavened Bread Cafe. Here's one of our early successes... a great urban pastor suddenly also empowered by simple e-capable skills and collaborating with the network... check him out now. And we'll be setting up at least 4 more locations, Lord willing, before the November CCDA Indy 2005 Conference.]
Pray with us, that solid suburban churches will catch the vision for collaborating with urban churches to create a citywide network of e-capable Christians focused on making it 'hard to go to hell from Indy'.
