"The [prayer email] author is Capt. Lyle Shackelford, battalion chaplain, HHD, 57th Transportation Battalion. His unit was in charge of delivering the voting machines and ballots to villages and cities throughout Iraq -- a potentially lethal assignment.
"Our convoys are prime targets for the insurgents," he wrote. He emphasized how badly those forces wanted the elections to fail and what a historic mission this was, in both a political and spiritual sense, he said."
