[Ed. note: The CNN/USA Today poll results cited by major news media seem to beg a central question of the debate. With 56% of opinions apparently concurring with the court, would any of us personally be willing to end her life, knowing she had no vote, her religion would not concur, and a substantial percentage of Americans (31%) would not want their life ended in such a case? Now worse, would any of us be willing to end her life on the vote of one relative... and he with apparent conflicts of interest? Must not a just & merciful society err on the side of preserving life in the case of a non-voting victim? What kind of people have we become?]
