Indiana lynching survivor finally gets his apology
(Washington D.C., June 14) James Cameron left Washington with something he had waited a long time for, the simple words, "We're sorry.""Well, it was too late. But better late than never."
It had taken 75 years, since 1930, when a Marion lynch mob was ready to hang him along with two others for killing a white man, until someone vouched for his innocence and he was spared.
