Friday's Report from 'Faith, Hope & Love' Week
[reported by Pastor Merlin Gonzales, FHL Coordinator]Today, we had 30+ volunteers and we broke out in three groups.
The first group sorted children’s clothes for the Washington township students at North Central Church of Christ.
[Ed.note: Now THIS is what I call real Indy racing!]
The second group finished the ramp for a disabled woman, widened the doors in the house and cleaned the entire yard.
The third group (youth) gave away goodies and t-shirts and washed the cars’ windows at Speedway gas station on 82nd and Allisonville Rd.
Here are a few of the testimonials:
- One of the volunteers at the gas station was surprised to hear “God loves you, too” from a driver
- Since FHL volunteers do not receive any donations, a person who received free window cleaning for his car bought several bottles of Gatorade for the volunteers.
- The disabled woman was in tears to see the ramp that was built by the FHL volunteers. She immediately used the ramp.
- Several volunteers came to me and said that FHL gave them opportunity to serve the community.
Tears gushed in my eyes after the worship on Friday morning seeing pastors from different denominations anointing each other in the name of Jesus. It was heaven on earth witnessing the unity of the churches involved.
What I have witnessed this week is far more than what I had expected. I received a hundred fold more than what I gave, exactly what Jesus said some two thousand years ago.
SATURDAY: FHL FESTIVAL AT LNHS NOON TO 4PM
