President salutes the spirit of sharing

"For 35 years, Vernice Williams has tutored students, served tea and coffee from church kitchens and been everything from ticket taker to board member at Indiana Black Expo.

Today, President Bush will say thanks, giving her a Volunteer Service Award from the White House. She's the first Hoosier to receive the honor.

In fact, she is likely to be one of the first people Bush meets when he arrives today in Indianapolis..."
