Come, ye children, hearken unto me...
Blessed is the man who trusts in God!Fear the Lord and depart from evil...the Lord hears the cry of the righteous and is near the broken hearted...
Psalm 34 has SO MANY great thoughts, the essence of all we read however, is “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good”! Until we see His goodness, His kindness, His mercy towards us and His love, we will never grow in our faith – we will not recognize the need for repentance (Rom 2:4) and we will not have the contrite heart that allows His Spirit to move in and through us.
We must, if we desire greater intimacy with our Father in Heaven, also recognize that He is God and stand in awe of Him and well as feel close to Him like our “daddy’. God has so many facets that we will never understand until we are with Him, but the Bible clearly and repetitively speaks to the necessity of “the fear of the Lord”. Fearing Him and seeing His goodness go “hand in hand”. As we see His goodness, we will stand in greater reverence of Him, as we reverence and fear Him, we will see His goodness more clearly. This cycle is, and will continue to be, repetitive as long as our hearts are soft (broken and contrite) towards Him.
Pray with me that we continue to grow in HIS GRACE: fearing and loving Him all the more...
