Crime Prevention Task Force Meeting... Nov. 9th

Per email received from...

Marquisha Bridgeman
Faith Based Coordinator
City of Indianapolis

Community Crime Prevention Task Force
Meeting with Faith Leaders
Christian Theological Seminary, 1000 West 42nd Street (map)
Thursday, November 9, 2006
6:00pm – 8:00pm

The Community Crime Prevention Task Force, organized by the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, invites all faith leaders and faith-based organizations to participate in a meeting focused on gathering information and listening to ideas from the faith community to reduce the crime in Indianapolis.

The Task Force has been charged to examine the underlying causes that have led to the surge of violence and is eager to hear about the experiences in the faith community and how congregations and/or organizations have been successful in addressing the social and service needs in our city.

Participants are strongly encouraged to bring information about programs (small and large) and ideas for collaboration with other organizations for a more efficient and effective meeting.

If at all possible, it would be helpful if organizations can provide printed material or a written report that includes:

  • Statistical and demographic data relating to the individuals and groups served.
  • Data demonstrating that the organization has been effective in providing services and social programs.

Please support the efforts of the task force by sharing this invitation with faith leaders, senior pastors, program ministers and lay volunteers.

Please RSVP to Barbara Glass at 327-3601 or bglass@indygov.org. If an organization cannot be represented at this event but would like to share information for future reference, please fax information to the attention of Barbara Glass at 327-3980 or send by e-mail.

In advance, the Mayor and the Community Crime Prevention Task Force acknowledge and thank the faith community for all of the work already being done and every effort that will help our community meet some very critical challenges.
