Hundreds pack Conseco Fieldhouse for city prayer
[Indianapolis -- WISH-TV8]Hundreds of people packed Conseco Fieldhouse Saturday night. Churches from across central Indiana came together to build a safer community through the power of prayer.
Saturday night's event was called ROCK Indy which stands for Reclaiming Our City and Kids. Organizers believe that one way to do that is by bringing together the religious community.
Those attending live by the mantra, "Alone we are one voice, but together we are a force."
The force at ROCK Indy are church members working together to build a safer community.
"We care about our city and we want to take our city back," Pastor Bill Jenkins said.
He said he knows the answer, "We believe that Jesus is the answer. If Jesus is the answer, the church has to mobilize itself. Break racial and denominational barriers and come together."
