Commentary by Rev. Tom WalkerSenator Evan Bayh joined 41 other senators in refusing to support a cloture motion last week that could have led to passage of the Child Custody Protection Act, legislation that would have made it a federal crime to transport a minor across state lines for an abortion.
Bayh' s actions are particularly disappointing in light of his previous floor vote in favor of the CCPA - a vote now seen as little more than a public relations vote.
Evan, did you think we were not looking? Is this to gain some sort of support from the far left? What troubles me (but doesn't surprise me) is that you act this way after being reelected. I suppose the timing is good for you though. Plenty enough time would pass if you failed at a presidential bid that locals might forget about this and some of your other recent history of pandering to the left. I only wish more Hoosiers could hear you talk when you're in Washington and 22 other states like I have.
You are likely surprised by this having experienced my soft prayerful approach in the past. Well there is still one thing you won't be surprised by. Know that I will continue to pray for you, Susan and the twins. Specifically that God will give you His discernment in all things.
