Therefore have I hope...
by Pastor Jim BrownHorizon Christian Fellowship

Lamentations 3:21-26
------------------------
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
=======================
It is a wonderful thing that our salvation doesn’t depend upon our faithfulness, rather on God’s.
Great is HIS faithfulness!
It is a wonderful thing that God is longsuffering in extending His mercy to us and that His mercies are new every morning...every morning if we confess and repent we can start with a new “slate”. As we wait upon God for our ‘daily bread’, as we wait on Him for our very livelihood, as we place our hope in Him and seek Him as our portion for the day, we will see His goodness, His mercy, His love and His compassion on us as His children.
When life comes at us hard and when there seems to be no hope, we can (and should) both hope and wait on the Salvation of the Lord.
Pray with me that our first and only focus is on God and His portion for us this day...
