Donation is sweet for Second Helpings

Second Helpings chose to move three years ago into a larger building, allowing it to nearly double the number of meals it prepares daily to feed the hungry.

That move came with a price though: a $225,000 mortgage. But the agency that takes prepared and perishable foods and refashions it into meals for the needy was convinced the community would support its decision.

That belief has paid off -- big time.
