Benedict: "So you're not Catholic? You're defective."
[IndyChristian Ed. Note: I really hated to see this, much less have to post it here. After all, we have a number of Catholic friends who are Bible-believing, born-again Christ-followers. Apparently the pope's stated position does not well-represent these Catholic friends. But like any denomination, the Catholic church has a wide spectrum of individual churches and practical theologies. It may be his position and he may have some followers who buy into such a position, but I suspect the vast majority of Catholics do NOT assent to this stated position -- it'll be interesting to see. All this being said though, this is news today... that despite inroads made during John Paul's tenure, the current pope clings to the historical position of the Catholic church that they alone have Christ's attention and the value of his atonement now rests in their hands to dispense as they please.]From World Net Daily...
