Exhortation from the National Prayer Committee...
[from Dave Butts, Chm, National Prayer Committee...]To all National Prayer Committee Members and Friends,
Greetings in the Name of Jesus in this New Year! I’d like to take a few minutes of your time to talk about this very special year of 2008. Some of us will be gathering in Miami in a few weeks and will share more together about this, but I know that others cannot attend. My prayer is that these thoughts may prompt us to pray more for our nation and to encourage us as to the value of what we are doing as a prayer movement.
Last May as the NPC met in Washington DC, we began to hear about various prayer initiatives that would take place in 2008. As the list grew, my organizational anxiety grew with it. “Oh no, all of these prayer events will conflict and compete with each other. How can we organize this and not overwhelm the Church with too many conflicting prayer events?” Those were the thoughts going on within me and, I suspect, within a few others there.
