Preparing for a beach landing...
[from Marc Carrier, Gosport, IN...]"I always conjure up imagery from WWII footage of beach landings when I think of the spiritual battle that rages on when the saints work to take ground in a neighborhood, town, or city. The marines dare not land their craft before until many, many hours of bombardment from both the big guns and fighter/bombers.
Yet, eager and enthusiastic Christians want to rush in and just share with everyone, without consideration to the fact that the battle rages on in the heavenlies, and that salvation is a spiritual transaction, not an intellectual one. Foot soldiers for Christ should remember that the beaches need softening, that hearts need to be prepared, strongholds torn down, doors opened—all BEFORE you knock on the door. This is done through PRAYER!
