Conversation on religion, race and politics
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — A local and national kick-off for the June 2008 weekly SacredConversations on Religion, Race, and Electoral Politics will be held Sunday, May 18 from 7-9p.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
This local event is part of a national effort to address race relations. Dr. James Morehead, associate producer of the new documentary A Ripple of Hope will participate along with congregations, faith-based institutions and community leaders.
The June 2008 Sacred Conversations will feature conversations between five pairings of churches from differing backgrounds. In addition to these conversations, there will be a conversation among community leaders.
A press conference will be held at the conclusion of the conversations on June 29 at 6 p.m. The proposed venue is Light of the World Christian Church.
