Congregation taps popular culture to broaden appeal

GRANGER, Ind. -- Your first clue that things are different at Granger Community Church is the bulletin handed to you at the door. The cover has a picture of an Xbox video game controller and the words: "Get in the game."

Inside the massive, dimly lit sanctuary, a group of teens stands on stage, silhouetted against a 50-foot-wide screen that displays a video game in progress: the Wii Nintendo tennis match the kids are playing.
