'Indy Timeline' of Upcoming Events Now HERE's a document I can really salute!
***CLICK HERE FOR UPDATED STORY & PHOTOS***Having previously posted about the recently released "An Evangelical Manifesto"... [here] [and here], what a welcome surprise it was for me today to get to sit in on the Transform Indiana ministry-networking meeting, and hear about 7 churches on Indy's Eastside who are partnering together for the cause of Christ in their community.
Remember the lengthy 'manifesto' which apparently took 3 years to build (and summarize) and is still being explained (and discredited)? By contrast, here's the covenant these 7 churches composed in short order while in the trenches together getting the job done in their neighborhoods...
"We the following pastors come together for fellowship and the transformation of the Near Eastside Neighborhood by the power of God (and the blessing of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ). Being led by the Holy Spirit as gospel preachers, we now commit ourselves to this task. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, and it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph. 2: 8-9. This salvation is both personal and corporate, (extends to the proclamation) proclaiming that by Christ all things are reconciled to God. Col. 1:20. We further believe that our God is a triune God, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, I John 5:7. Affirming (Based on our beliefs,) the Holy Scriptures also (commonly) known as the Word of God, and for the purpose of this great work, we now commit our congregations to fellowship (“marriage”) as brothers and sisters in Christ, and again for the glory of God and fulfillment of the scriptures. Acts 2:44."
I don't know if ALL these pastors are among the 'anti-intellectuals' and 'caricatures' decried in the manifesto, or not... but I think you might agree with me... they pretty succinctly hit the nail on the head as they enumerated their purpose & principles.

Crystal, it was a pleasure having you with us and sharing about 'Helping Hats'. It's so cool to have young people with a passion to help those God cares so much about in our city. Moreover, it's neat to be able to introduce the young hearts and e-capable hands now connecting at the speed of Light, as we TOGETHER seek to accelerate the Good News and its impact in our city.
