Praying For Our Youth...

Praying for our youth... Turn on the radio, turn on the television, turn on the computer and what do you see? Images portrayed are disheartening and disturbing. Shocked? When was the last time you spent time in a school? At times I struggle with the challenges youth face and how they respond to adult issues they are having to deal with. What I am seeing across the board are students that do not know how to communicate? Students automatically think the worst of each other. Others see mixed messages so they struggle with peer to peer and adult relationships.

What's the solution? Ultimately it is Jesus...but what is interesting...when I ask a student what they did on Sunday they respond "I went to church". I recently did a spoof about a Principal doing morning announcements. In the video I announced their will be "Pastor and Teacher" conferences! What a sight that would be. At the end of the day..we still can not afford to let XBOX 360's, cell phones, myspace and facebook to teach our kids the skills they need to be successful in life.

I challenge you..step in a elementary school this week. You maybe amazed at what you will see but more importantly what are you willing and able to do to help make a difference. Do you know there are kids who think going to Gary is like going out of the country? Kids need to see beyond the block... Kids need hope...Kids need Jesus.....Kids need you to bring hope as you show Jesus the Light of the World!
