The Depth of the Riches

Rom 11:33-36 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

The Awesomeness of GOD! Do we ponder it? Do we think about how complex He is? Have we thought on the idea that He orchestrates not only the horizontal of our lives but often to make events happen that affect us, He may have had to coordinate events over days, months, years or even centuries?
Why does He do this? Because He loves you and me...it’s a simple yet extremely profound idea. God is love. He has loved us with an everlasting love. He loved us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die in our place. Jesus is the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world – God knew you and I would need a savior even before He spoke the earth into existence! Wow!
Do we grasp His grace? We must understand that we are nothing in God’s economy. Paul, in his letter to the Romans, tells us that in our flesh dwells no good thing and that there are none that are righteous. Isaiah tells us that our righteousness is like filthy rags and Jeremiah tells us our hearts are deceitfully wicked and only God can know them. Yet, Psalm 103 tells us that God knows our frame and remembers we are “but dust”.
And yet...
God continues to bless those who believe on Jesus by faith despite our hearts, our actions or our faithfulness to obeying His commands. Is this cheap grace? No...it’s ultimately expensive love – it cost our Father in Heaven His only Son’s life: Jesus, who knew no sin, became sin for us that we might be the righteousness of God in Him. Thank you, Lord!
