Fate of Abortion Bill Up In The Air
[from the Indianapolis Star...]State lawmakers hit a potentially insurmountable roadblock Monday over legislation that could make it harder for women to obtain abortions in Indiana.
Their disagreement centered not on the question of abortion, but on whether to spend $23 million in taxpayer money to provide free breast- and cervical-cancer screenings for uninsured women.
House Democrats added that provision to Senate Bill 89 this month.
