Consider blessing a a non-profit organization making a difference in the community...

Many children in central Indiana are in crisis. Life is a struggle every day. They have been exposed to hunger, poverty, violence, abuse, and other horrors unimaginable in childhood. They struggle with mental health and emotional issues. They demonstrate behaviors that no one understands. They are failing in school. They may be in legal trouble or no longer live at home. Often, these youth lack strong positive role models. Their families have been in the "system" for years, and they have no hope. Most are significantly at risk for school failure, placement outside of their home, and/or removal from their community. Some, but not all, have identified special education needs. Others are under consideration for special education referral.

PASSWORD Community Mentoring helps these children who face monumental challenges access their true potential, one step at a time. Professionally trained Mentors help each child discover their password to unlocking a series of doors and accessing a world of hope.

Hear from the kids we serve...

"PassWord has helped me by solving some of the biggest conflicts that I have had.  It helped me because I learned how to help other people who have conflicts.  Whenever I have a rough day I feel free to come and talk to the PassWord Mentor about what's going on."

--Veronica, grade 4

"Password Respect Center has helped me to be good. I can come to and discuss my problems before they become big. I can discuss with the Mentor, things I cannot discuss with many people; like talking about how I feel when people in my class disrespect my mom."
--Tre, grade 3

PassWord will be serving kids over the summer in our YEAH (YOUTH EXCELLING AS HEROES) Academy. Students will be in a safe, structured environment. Students will learn academic and behavior skills to promote success both in and out of school.
