Christian Songwriters And Performers... Sat. June 27th
[from our friends at the Language & Culture Gallery...]Saturday June 27th 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM – we host our next “big” event: The Central Indiana Christian Songwriter’s Association (CICSA). CICSA is a group of more than eighty Christian songwriters from central Indiana. Their members run the gamut from beginning writers to traveling professional performers. The Christian Songwriter's-in-the Round" offers just that. Two to four different Christian artists each month, who take turns performing their original songs - not always Christian songs - but it always has to be good music - non stop. You can expect 6-10 songs from each artist. In July the musicians will be Lloyd Shelby, Chris Calo, Steve Lambert, & Mike Winters. Join the Fun with new Friends, Food and Music. FREE Admission - Offering for the artists is appreciated!, but not required.

Language and Culture International (LCi) began in 1993 to provide Language & Cultural Diversity training to business professionals, Faith Based and other Community Organizations, and to private citizens. Their goal is to help students learn a new language in a similar fashion as they learned their native language – by introducing functional, non-grammar based skills so that students can begin communicating - starting from the first day of class. “We teach Beginner Level Students who have little or no background in the language to near native speakers needing practice for accent reduction and to maintain their fluency” said Marvin Gainer, Gallery owner and principal Spanish instructor.
They also provide services in Cultural Coaching; Interpreters and Translators.
Marvin believes that, “the culture of the people of the languages that LCi teaches is a very necessary component of language learning.” Therefore, to enhance their students’ language acquisition, they provide relevant experiences in the culture of the people whose language their students are learning. Some examples are: Art; Cinema; Cuisine; Dance; Literature and Music.
All language instructors are native speakers, or near-native speakers who have either lived or studied in the country of the language(s) they teach. LCi hosts social events for the benefit of their International Friends – which also provides a great venue for language practice and cultural exchanges for their students.
The Gallery is also available for rent to small business meetings, conferences, receptions, recitals and other intimate venues.
As an upcoming Fine Arts Gallery, LCi has dedicated space where many of the very talented “un-shown” artists in Indianapolis can exhibit (and sell) their original work. A new artist is usually presented every 1st Friday of the month.
